COZYPUZZLE / INFORMATION

Privacy

This page explains what the current CozyPuzzle server stores and when it talks to outside services.

Data stored on this server

Accounts include a username, password hash and salt for password accounts, profile image if uploaded, friends, joined rooms, points and completed puzzle history. Saved rooms include the chosen image, piece positions, progress, room name, player contributions and a hash of any room password.

Guest progress and cookies

Guests receive a random browser cookie that identifies their saved rooms, points and completed puzzles on this server. This lets you return from the same browser without creating an account. Clearing browser data, using another browser or device, or losing the server's data can make guest progress inaccessible. Signing in attaches that guest progress to your account. Account sessions also use a browser cookie.

Social sign-in

If Google or Facebook sign-in is configured and you choose it, the server exchanges an authorization code with that provider and reads your provider account ID and display name. It stores those values to identify your CozyPuzzle account. Google and Meta process the sign-in under their own policies. No provider sign-in occurs when you use a password account.

Real-time play and messages

Piece moves, cursor positions and chat messages travel to other players in the same room. Chat messages are not saved to the room file. Uploaded puzzle images and profile images are stored on this server so your room and profile can be restored.

Contact messages

The contact form stores your name, optional email, message, and submission time on this server. It does not send an email automatically. The operator must read the local message file to respond.

Retention and requests

Room, guest and account files remain on the host until the operator removes them. This build does not yet provide a self-service deletion control. Use the contact form for a data question or deletion request.
